Criminal Investigations Division
Criminal Investigations Division
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force plays a vital role in supporting frontline operations and leading serious and complex criminal investigations within our communities of Rothesay and Quispamsis. Staffed by trained and experienced full-time investigators, the CID works collaboratively across the organization to provide investigative expertise, guidance, and support to patrol and specialized units.
Using the principles of Major Case Management, the Division leads coordinated investigative teams to ensure thorough, professional, and effective investigations. CID members assist officers with investigative planning and strategy, source handling, judicial authorizations, and interview and interrogation practices, while maintaining a strong focus on professionalism, accountability, and continuous skill development. Investigators receive specialized training and are highly knowledgeable in the Criminal Code, case law, and complex investigative techniques.
In addition to investigative responsibilities, the CID works proactively to enhance public safety through crime prevention, education, and community awareness initiatives related to fraud, internet crime, financial abuse of seniors, and other emerging risks. The Division also collaborates with municipal, provincial, and federal partners when required to ensure comprehensive and coordinated responses to serious incidents.
Through its work, the Criminal Investigation Division is committed to delivering high-quality investigative services, supporting operational excellence, and strengthening public trust and safety in the Kennebecasis region.
