Court Services

Court Services

The Court Services function is a vital part of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the judicial process. Acting as a key liaison between the Force, the Crown Prosecutor’s office, and Defense Counsel, the Court Officer plays a central role in managing investigative files and supporting the court system.

All completed investigative reports from Patrol and Criminal Investigation Division officers are received and carefully reviewed by the Court Officer. They prepare and organize the necessary paperwork and copies for Crown review. Once a file is approved for charges, the Court Officer formally lays charges and represents the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force in court proceedings. They are also responsible for receiving and managing all warrants issued by the courts.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Court Services team coordinates the tracking, disclosure, and quality assurance of files under municipal, provincial, and federal legislation until the court process is complete. They work closely with the Crown Prosecutor’s office to maintain efficiency and ensure that all members of the Force are informed and up to date on relevant court policies and procedures.
